Medical Conditions Learning Package for Cheshire West and Chester Schools.

Pupils at school with medical conditions should be properly supported so that they have full access to education, including school trips and physical education.

The presentations provide participants with the evidence based knowledge and skills to effectively support pupils in your school who may have the following conditions. 

- Asthma

- Diabetes

- Epilepsy

- Allergies and Anaphylaxis

 

By the end the participant's will: 

- have a greater understanding of the statutory guidance.

- be aware of medical conditions, including, triggers symptoms, treatments and preventive measures.

- be aware of the impact on the pupil with a medical condition.

- be aware of what should be in a healthcare plan.

- know how to respond to a child in an emergency situation, e.g. asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, allergies and anaphylaxis.

- be able to access appropriate resources to support the development of school policies, to support pupils with a medical condition. 

Training is delivered via online elearning and presentations for you to complete at a time that suits you best.

• Governing bodies must ensure that arrangements are in place in schools to support pupils at school with medical conditions.
• Governing bodies should ensure that school leaders consult health and social care professionals, pupils and parents to ensure that the needs of children wit

This framework has been developed to allow individuals, employers, and integrated care systems to be aware of the skills and knowledge that are required to ensure they can safely care for a child and young person with asthma. The framework is aimed at both health and non-healthcare professionals across all aspects of a child’s life, including childcare providers, education providers, uniformed services, sports coaches, social services and health care workers.
