Eating lots of different foods helps us to have a balanced diet which means that we get the right amount of nutrients that we need to be healthy.
We should try and have 3 balanced meals a day and 2 snacks.
Why not try to...
Make a Sugar Swap – swap a sugary snack or drink for something lower in sugar
Snack check – Try and choose healthy snacks that are lower in sugar, salt, fat and calories. Try a fruit smoothie with real fruit and milk rather than a can of fizzy drink.
Me Size Meals – eat just the right amount – you don’t need to eat a portion of food the same size as an adult!
5 A Day - try and eat 5 portions of fruit and vegetables every day. Plus it doesn’t always have to be fresh, it could be frozen or canned too.
