Immunisations

Staying Healthy

During secondary school you will be immunised against certain diseases.

What, where, when and who…

Year 8

Girls will receive the first dose of the HPV Vaccine. HPV stands for Human Papilloma virus.

Year 9

Girls will receive the second dose of the HPV Vaccine.

Girls and boys will receive two immunisations:

  1. Teenage booster against Tetanus, Diptheria and Polio
  2. Meningitis booster which protects against A.C, W and Y strains of meningitis.

All immunisations are given in school by a healthcare professional who is experienced in giving immunisations. The immunisation will be in your upper arm.

You will receive a letter explaining your vaccination and a consent form about 2 weeks beforehand. You need to sign and send the consent form back to school.
